Let me introduce ourselves.
We are Guido:
And Maouia::
Maouia is a Moroccan living in Germany for the last 10 years.
I on the other hand am Dutch and moved to Germany 9 years ago.
About 5 years ago we met each other at work and soon after,
the 'international bond' was made between the two of us.
We both love to travel the world and seek out beautiful places to do our favourite things: Photography, Eating, Dancing and long walks on the beach (;))
In 2020 we got married:
And then Covid-19 happened...
And all of a sudden there is no travel, no interactions with friends:
This is when Maouia started coming up with the idea of starting our own business.
And the reasoning behind her idea was that she is from the town of Safi, Morocco.
This town is world famous for its pottery and their craftsmanship.
We decided to do a little trial and bring home some pottery to share with friends and see their reactions. So far all is positive and good to go.
But, we wanted to be different, not like everybody else who imports pottery from Morocco. We wanted to be unique and also sell products that are painted by myself and give a platform for the great artists that create beautiful pieces every day, but hardly get any recognition.
At Safi home Design we want that to be different.
All our products are created by hand with materials from the earth. We have no artificial elements in our store.
We believe that the world is slowly filling up with Throw Away, Single use, Mass produced and environmentally harmful products.
And by doing so we slowly destroy all the beauty around us.
That's why we believe 100% in our pottery, when it's destroyed it becomes one with earth again. The way it should be.
We also wanted a platform where we could be creative, whether with pottery or canvas, we like to keep busy creatively. When I paint the world disappears and all that exists is paint, pencils and canvas or pottery.
